Bolu Municipality officials' legal and criminal liability is in question.
Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir: The hotel applied to the Bolu Municipality Fire Department on December 12, and according to the findings of the fire department, the fire department report was prepared negative, thereupon the hotel withdrew the inspection request on December 24 and the application was canceled by the Municipality with the signature of the Deputy Mayor. However, what should have been done is not to cancel the application, notify this report to the relevant party and the Ministry and notify the Prosecutor's Office. If this had been done, this hotel's tourism operation certificate would have been canceled and the hotel would have been banned from activity. For this reason, Bolu Municipality officials have legal and criminal liability.
