Zafer Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Ali Şehirlioğlu made a press statement by reading the letter sent from Silivri Prison by his party’s imprisoned leader Ümit Özdağ. Party Spokesperson Azmi Karamahmutoğlu read the letter sent from prison by Chairman Ümit Özdağ. The following statements were included in the letter sent by Ümit Özdağ: "Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ’s letter: I am addressing you from Silivri Closed Penal Institution. My being here is the clearest proof that none of our citizens have security of life and property under the AKP oppressive regime. On Saturday, January 18, AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made the following statement at the AKP Mersin Provincial Congress: ''The first 80 years of our country were marked by the fatigue of centuries and the pains of transition from the Ottoman Empire, which was under the burden of World War I, to the Republic. We have witnessed the heavy costs of the destructive and oppressive policies of single-party fascism against our nation's faith, history and culture.'' On Sunday, January 19, I responded to Erdoğan’s statement at the 4th Victory Party Provincial Chairmen’s Meeting in Antalya as follows: “In this struggle, in this political struggle of ideas, the Victory Party is fighting against terrorist organizations such as the PKK, FETÖ, and ISIS. In the face of all this, the Victory Party resolutely defends the founding philosophy of the Republic, its fundamental principles, the independence and indivisible integrity of our nation and state. However, unfortunately, the Victory Party has to defend the indivisible integrity of our country, the founding philosophy of the Republic, and the valuable legacy left by Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk not only against terrorist organizations, but also against Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the AKP. In his speech at his party’s congress in Mersin yesterday, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the following: “The first 80 years of our country were marked by the fatigue of centuries, the pains of the transition from the Ottoman Empire, which was under the burden of World War I, to the Republic. We have witnessed the heavy costs of the policies of single-party fascism against our nation’s faith, history and culture,” he said. Dear Victory Party members, The Turkish nation has been ruling Anatolia for 1000 years. We have been subjected to many Crusades during 1000 years. The First Crusade began in 1095. The last Crusade took place between 1914-1922. We defeated the last great Crusade in Anatolia under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and buried the Crusader armies in the cold waters of the Mediterranean. The Republic of Turkey is a new Ergenekon for the Turkish nation and in this new Ergenekon, our dear nation has become stronger, armed and built its industry. It has eliminated the diseases left by the period of collapse, captured Hatay and then established a state in Cyprus. Be assured that no Crusade in the last 1000 years has caused the damage that Erdoğan and the AKP have done to the Turkish nation and the Turkish state. No Crusade has been able to infiltrate spies into the Turkish state, or turn the Turkish nation into Deists, Atheists or Christians. However, during Erdoğan’s term, large segments of the Turkish nation have begun to lose interest in their religion because of “those who deceive with Allah”. During Erdoğan’s term, the rate of Deists and atheists has exceeded 16%. Erdoğan should know that the cadres who founded the Republic have protected and developed the faith, history and culture of the Turkish nation. The one who attacks the faith, history and culture of the Turkish nation, who learned history from a madman wearing a fez, is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan himself. Yes, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is harming the history of the Turkish nation by distorting the history of the Turkish nation and bringing partners into the history of the Turkish nation. Erdoğan is harming the faith of the Turkish nation by dividing the state of the Turkish nation among religious orders and congregations and by making polytheists a partner in the state. He is destroying the culture of the Turkish nation by bringing millions of refugees and fugitives into Anatolia. What is happening is actually an AKP fascism. And as the Victory Party, we will not normalize with this fascism like the main opposition. We will fight and we will win. Victory will belong to the Turkish state and the Turkish nation. As can be seen, in the response I gave to Erdoğan; the same expressions that Erdoğan used regarding Atatürk were used. The next day, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which did not open an investigation against Erdoğan for "insulting Atatürk", announced to the press that it had opened an investigation against me before the file was even in UYAP. At around 17:30, a prosecutor working at the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office gave the order to detain me to the Ankara Police Department, using the phrases "I have a suspicion of escape and there is no obstacle to my detention". First of all, let me state this; the FETÖ prosecutors who fabricated dozens of pages of lies in the 1st and 2nd Ergenekon indictments to accuse me escaped, but I did not. One day, the AK regime prosecutors and AK regime judges will also escape, but I will not escape again. Why would the general chairman of a political party known by the whole society escape? Since the crime he is accused of does not even require arrest, why would he not go and testify when invited? The second statement used by the prosecutor is not a part of law, but of psychology. It states "there is no obstacle to my detention". There is no such concept or understanding of law. This statement expresses the prosecutor's joy at my detention and arrest. Following this detention order, police teams affiliated with the Ankara Police Department detained me while I was eating at a restaurant at 19:30. After taking me to the hospital, they transferred me to another team and sent me to Istanbul. We came to Istanbul in a convoy at 180-190 km/h. Although I warned the driver of the car 3 times, “Are you going to hand me over dead or alive?” he continued at the same speed. I was taken into the building without allowing the thousands of citizens who had gathered on Vatan Street to see me. They did not take me to custody. They kept me waiting in a room they called a meeting room with a lawyer. I would like to state that neither the team that brought me from Ankara nor the police team in Istanbul ever compromised on their courtesy. However, I was given the opportunity to meet only one of the lawyers who came to see me. I would like to thank all the citizens who came to Vatan Caddesi that night, the members of the dear Victory Party Organization, and the valuable lawyers. When I was asked to spend the night on a plank bench that was thirty centimeters wide and two meters long, I told the police, “Tonight, Abdullah Öcalan will be sleeping more comfortably in İmralı.” Thereupon, I was given a chair and a blanket. I spread the blanket on the plank bench and went to bed. They were going to take me to Çağlayan Courthouse for questioning at 10:00 in the morning. However, I was taken at 13:30. Why? Because the prosecutors who had opened an investigation against me for “insulting the President” the day before and issued the detention order knew that there was no insult in my statement and that they could not arrest me in this way. The detention order issued on the charge of insulting the President is a complete legal conspiracy. We will file a criminal complaint against the Chief Public Prosecutor and relevant prosecutors regarding this matter. And just as the FETÖ prosecutors were once punished for setting up such plots, now those who set up these plots will also be punished. The document required to arrest me is a 4-page document that was hastily prepared upon an instruction given to the Kayseri Police Department in the early hours of the morning of January 21st, following my detention and my being brought to Istanbul. In this so-called document, accusations were made regarding the posts of 2 former Zafer Party members Murat Kaftar and Baykal Altay, who shared on X, and “our former Zafer Party Kayseri Provincial Chairman” Hacı Ali Demirkaya. However, decisions of no prosecution were made in the investigations regarding these individuals. A crime cannot be established based on posts that do not constitute a crime, for which decisions of no prosecution were made. The document also stated that those who participated in the Kayseri incidents were “supporters of the Zafer Party.” Did the Kayseri Police Department conduct a survey among the protesters? The truth is this; During the Kayseri incidents, no investigation was opened against a single member of the Zafer Party in Kayseri or in other provinces. The Zafer Party will file a criminal complaint against the Kayseri Police Department. In addition, the two Xs I put in order to “calm down the incidents” were not included in the Prosecutor's Office investigation file. I had made the following statements in these Xs: 1) ''You will write your full name here so that you can say it is wrong. You will go to Kayseri. You will share your photo from the street from there. You will not call the Turkish people to the streets on social media with such fake names. The people reacted. No one will be sent away this way, only the country will be mixed up as imperialism wants. If you want to send away Syrians and Afghans, you will vote for the Victory Party and they will go within the law. Dear people of Kayseri, the police are ours, the state is ours, the country is ours. You have protected your city. Now go back home. Do not allow conscious or unconscious provocateurs.'' 2) In Eskişehir Bağları Neighborhood in Kayseri: • A Syrian refugee raped another 5-year-old Syrian girl. • The rapist's relatives caused difficulties for the police who wanted to take the rapist and the incidents escalated. • When the Turks living in the neighborhood heard about the incident, they reacted to the Syrians resisting the police. Turks coming from other neighborhoods also took to the streets and reacted to the Syrians. • The incidents escalated. When the number of police officers was insufficient, the governor's office made an urgent call for duty. • The governor's office instructed the police to protect the Syrians. In the Danişmend Gazi Neighborhood, where the Syrian population is dense, the people of Kayseri took to the streets and began demonstrating. The police were also dispatched to that neighborhood. The reason why the incidents reached this point is undoubtedly the pampered Syrians who resisted and did not hand over the rapist to the police. Dear Kayseri residents, return to your homes by helping the police forces. You have shown your reaction. The escalation of the incidents will benefit Turkey's enemies." In addition, after the incidents began, I sent 2 of my Deputy Chairman and 1 Chief Advisor to the Chairman to Kayseri. I sent Seyit Yücel, Ali Dinçer Çolak and retired Police Chief Fatih Eryılmaz, a July 15 veteran, to Kayseri. No mention was made of their contacts with the Kayseri Police Department. In addition to this hastily prepared document, the prosecutor asked me questions about posts about Syrian refugees and illegal Afghans, the vast majority of which I shared in 2020-2021-2022. First of all, none of my X posts contain any expression of anger or hatred towards Syrian refugees or Afghans. Most of the posts I made are “quoted” posts. In other words, it is seen that I shared the post by quoting the news mentioned in another source. Official authorities who did not deny the other posts published the denial through my post. For example, former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş made the statement that “Land and arable land were sold to Syrians in Hatay.” I shared this statement by quoting it. The Hatay Governorship denied me, not Lütfü Savaş. I was arrested for this. A young man from Mersin called me. He said, “My brother was stabbed by Syrians. I am the child of a family native to Mersin. I am having a hard time holding back my friends.” I gave this young man’s name and told them to “remain calm, trust the Mersin Police Department, and that the Mersin police will catch the criminals.” And I shared the X post addressing the Mersin Police Department. The Mersin Police Department made a statement and claimed that the stabbed person was not Syrian. I explained the family’s claim. It was stated in the post that two of the three attackers were Syrians and one was a Turkish citizen born in Turkey. The accuracy of the statement by the Mersin Police Department should be investigated. Because the Mersin Police Department had previously covered up the news that a young Turkish man, whose first name was ONUR, was killed by a Syrian on Fasih Kayabalı Street in Mersin, which is now known as Şam Street. In short, this and similar incidents have nothing to do with the Kayseri incidents, there is no expression of hatred, and the AKP government; I was arrested on the grounds of my posts criticizing the “open borders” and “wrong refugee and illegal immigration policy”. Apart from three lawyers, not even my lawyers whom I had given power of attorney were allowed into the arrest interrogation. Esteemed members of the press, the real reason for my arrest is that Erdoğan “ordered my arrest”. The reason for this is that Ümit Özdağ and the Zafer Party actively resisted Erdoğan and Bahçeli's decision to transform the “National-Unitary-Secular Republic of Turkey” into a Turkish-Kurdish-Arab Federation within the framework of the “new paradigm”, together with the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, by exposing the plan. The contents of the plan, which was stated by former AKP MP İhsan Aslan, that it was prepared in detail, every detail was discussed and woven stitch by stitch, were explained in the X posts of President Erdoğan's chief legal advisor Mehmet Uçum. This plan is such a big threat that; Even Devlet Bahçeli said, "Many things will change in the coming period, God willing Turkey will not change." We will oppose and resist this plan that will divide Turkey. Dear members of the press, Great Turkish Nation, thousands of our young soldiers, police officers and village guards became martyrs in the prime of their lives. Thousands of young soldiers, police officers and village guards became veterans. Our young teacher brothers were martyred. 11 of our soldiers and intelligence officers who were held hostage in the PKK den in Gara were executed cowardly. Now I am being held hostage for Öcalan in Silivri. My detention in Silivri is a moment of silence for the precious memory of our martyrs."
