A mechanical swan, made more than 250 years ago, is on display at the Bowes Museum.

A famous automaton, a mechanical device known as the "Silver Swan". This swan made over 250 years ago is on display at the Bowes Museum. The automaton works like a music box and features a realistically moving swan figure. The swan floats on glass rods that mimic water and appears to hunt.
